Would you like to compete on Lake Balaton? Our Sailing Sports Association is an official member of the Hungarian Sailing Association since 2019, so we warmly welcome our current students to become members, as well as anyone who has already competed but would like to do so at another Sports Association, even one with a cheaper membership fee. We process the competition permit quickly and online, with a maximum administrative turnaround time of 1 day. Depending on whether you have been an official competitor before (i.e. whether you have already had a Hungarian Sailing Sports Association membership in another organization), you must take the following steps:
- First certification, you have never had a Sailing Sports Association membership before:
- An annual competitor license (competition permit) can only be requested from the club after paying the club membership and competition permit fees by filling out and signing the competition permit application form.
- Remittance of the annual membership fee to the Sports Association (details below!)
- After approving the permit, the MVSz secretariat provides access to the Vihar system (https://vihar.hunsail.hu). You will find your username (e.g.: 21/2014) and temporary password in your email, which we ask you to change upon first login. By logging into the competitor profile, you can update your personal data and contact information, as well as your sports doctor’s license and boatmaster’s license.
- You can even submit a valid entry for a competition on the same day!
- You already had a membership in another Hungarian Sailing Sports Association:
- If you would like to apply for your 2019 competition license in our Sports Association from this year, the following form must be sent to the new association with the countersignature of the releasing association, who will then request the athlete’s transfer to the new club when requesting the competition license in the online system: Release statement/transfer form
- Transfer the annual membership fee to the Sports Association (details below!)
- You can log in to the system with your existing VIHAR regular ID and password (https://vihar.hunsail.hu) and possibly modify your data: personal data and contact details, as well as sports doctor’s license and boatmaster’s license can be updated.

The price includes the online theoretical training and organization fee. It does not include the official examination fee (10,000 HUF) and the document issuance fee (14,800 HUF), which must be paid to the KAV.
Please transfer the costs in one lump sum to the account number below, and we will issue the Athlete’s Competition Permit within 1 day (or even within days) of receipt of this amount.

Booking
You secure your place on the course with a reservation – this is less than half the course fee, and you can pay by bank transfer or SZÉP card. You will then receive everything by email: location, equipment, course material.

What does the marine IV. class license?
To drive a 24-meter boat within 3 nautical miles from the coast – both with a sailboat and a motorboat.
How long does it take to prepare?
The education 2.5 hours, the exam is a 20-question test. Most people prepare in 1–2 weeks.
Is an inland navigation license required?
It is not a requirement, but if you have one, you can take the course at a discounted price.
